I have over 12 years experience of teaching in Key Stages 1 and 2, including students with SEN, in Bristol and Southampton schools. As a recent Head of KS2, I have worked with a range of children and families. I have experience of autism, ADHD and dyslexia and my practice is rooted in the understanding that children learn in different ways and need different strategies and levels of support. I am passionate about making a difference and going that extra mile to ensure that children make progress.
I have taught Year 6 for the past 8 years with a track record of proven success and I have a wealth of knowledge and experience of preparing children for SATs. I consider myself to be perceptive and able to quickly identify gaps in learning to create bespoke lessons tailored to your child.
I am very creative and enjoy doing calligraphy in my spare time. I am also musical- I play the piano and flute and love all genres of music! I love to travel and explore new places and enjoy a walk on the beach with my little boy.
My Approach
Every child needs a cheerleader, a teacher who understands them and champions their achievements. I feel that the power of putting the child’s motivations and interests at the centre of their own learning cannot be underestimated; getting to know the learner so that I can best help them to achieve is at the heart of what I do. I aim to create a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel happy and motivated but also safe and secure to take risks in their learning.
